It’s time to talk about something I see all the time – especially when it comes to messaging for funnel and automation strategists.
You’re brilliant at building systems that do the selling for your clients. But when it comes to selling your own offer? Your content isn’t landing, and your dream clients just aren’t biting.
In this first episode of Messaging on the Mic 2025, I dive into the messaging gaps holding one funnel wizard back – and share exactly what to say so her content starts converting.
If you’re new here, Messaging on the Mic is my signature 4-part podcast series where I review real businesses and show how to upgrade messaging using my Bolt 3D Framework: Desire, Demand, and Differentiation.
So let’s review the messaging of this particular funnel and automation strategist.

Desire – What Does Your Audience Actually Want?
Let’s be clear: your dream clients don’t want “automations” or “funnels.”
They want:
- Time to think and plan (the high-level CEO stuff) without being constantly “on”
- Space to rest without their business grinding to a halt
- A way to make sales without posting, pitching, and DMing every single day
Right now, this wizard’s messaging hints at that – but it needs to be blindingly obvious.
If your dream client has to think too hard about what you do or how it helps them – they’ll keep scrolling.
Clarity creates confidence. And confident people buy.
Try this instead: “You hand me the half-finished freebies, the tech overwhelm, and the leads you’re chasing manually – I turn it into a clear, converting funnel that brings in aligned clients while you’re out walking your dog, reading a book, or closing your laptop at 3pm.”
Demand – Why Does It Matter Right Now?
Their dream clients are overwhelmed – and the longer they stay in “I’ll figure it out myself” mode, the more time, energy, and money they’re wasting.
Urgency moves people by showing them the cost of staying where they are – and when you do this clearly and honestly, it builds trust, not pressure.
Try this instead: “Every week your funnel isn’t working, your dream clients are falling through the cracks. You didn’t start this business to spend your weekends fixing automations and writing follow-up emails from scratch.”
The cost of staying stuck isn’t just lost time – it’s lost sales, lost energy, and another month of burnout.
Differentiation – Why You, Not Another Automation + Funnel Strategist?
This wizard isn’t just an automation + funnel strategist.
They’re the rare blend of strategy + execution – the person who doesn’t just tell you what to do, they build it with you.
Most clients aren’t stuck because they don’t know what to do – they’re stuck because they can’t do it alone.
And when you show them you’ll build it with them? That’s what makes you the obvious choice.
Say it loud: “Most funnel experts hand you a plan or sell you a template. I map the journey, build the system, and make sure it actually works for you.”
That tells your dream client: “You don’t have to figure this out on your own – I’ve got you.”
Messaging in Action – Reviewing a Real Post
The post: You don’t need to hustle harder. You need a smarter system.
The tone? Relatable and grounded.
The message? Clear.
But to make it convert, here’s how I’d level it up using the Bolt 3D Framework:
Desire:
“I built an automated funnel that brings in leads, follows up while I rest, and sells my offers without me manually chasing a single client.”
Demand:
“If you’re still manually chasing leads and stuck in setup mode – you’re not just wasting time, you’re losing clients.”
Differentiation:
“DM me ‘SIMPLY’ and I’ll walk you through the system I use with clients to simplify their backend, scale their offers, and finally feel like they’re running a real business.”
The Big Question – Is It Messaging or Your Audience?
This funnel + automation strategist asked: “Is my messaging good enough to convert clients? Or do I need a new audience?”
Here’s my dog’s honest answer:
It’s your messaging – and you’re closer than you think.
Your audience is there.
They’re watching.
They’re listening.
But they’re not convinced yet – because your content isn’t making the value clear, urgent, or specific enough to tip them over the edge.
So no, you don’t need to start from scratch. You need messaging that:
- Names the real problem – like chasing leads and manual follow-up
- Shows how your offer solves it – with a system that sells while they rest
- Spells out what it’s costing them to wait – time, leads, energy
Once you do that? They’ll start acting like the dream clients you know they are.
