Before I reveal how to make winning clients easier… Let me first share something that actually makes it harder – a mistake you might be making in the pursuit of these dream clients: Chasing marketing trends.
I see it time and time again – people getting distracted by the latest shiny marketing trend or quick hack to make your quantum leap to 7-figures overnight. Here’s what you need to understand about marketing – good marketing isn’t what’s trending! A sustainable AND profitable business isn’t built on what’s currently “trending” – and if you create your marketing strategy around trends… You’ll always find yourself chasing the next thing when these trends change or stop working – and who has time for that?!

Marketing Strategy #1 – Know Your Audience Inside and Out
One of the biggest mistakes business owners make is not deeply understanding their target audience. You want to attract those Beyonce-level clients who are as hot as Harry Styles and ready to buy from you…
But when asked…
- What’s the #1 thing that keeps your ideal clients up at night right now
- What have they tried previously to fix this problem that didn’t work
- If they could wave a magic wand – what would look different?
…You’re like – “I don’t know” – That’s a problem.
Get to know your clients inside and out
I’ll say it again – if you don’t know the answer to these types of questions and you can’t stand up and talk about your ideal client in great depth (i.e. who they are, what they’re currently navigating, what they desire instead) – a trend is definitely NOT going to help you win clients.
To make winning clients easier – you want to start by getting to know them like they’re your best friends. The type of bestie that knows what they’re thinking and what they need to hear. This requires a little bit of light stalking (a.k.a market research). Where you get to know their pain points, desires, and preferences so you can use that intel to craft messaging, offers and marketing that speaks to their specific needs, wants and desires!
Marketing Strategy #2 – Build a Stand-Out Personal Brand
In today’s always-evolving and always-changing online space, having a personal brand that stands out and is authentically you is essential. I’m going to toot my own flute for a moment here – the reason I’ve been able to build a 6-figure business is because I’ve created a stand-out personal brand that other biz wizards refer to as “best practice”.
You know me for Ned, Dogs, Harry Potter, Magic, being an Introvert AND then infusing that into business, marketing, content and launching. I’m not afraid to go full wizard and embrace my unique blend of magic. I’m also not a follower of trends or doing something just because every other Harry, Ron & Hermione is doing it. I’m in my Leader Era and I lead with heart and intention, and that flows into my business strategy, my marketing and how I show up online.
I’m often asked “how did I do it?” or “how did I decide on dogs, magic and being an introvert?”
The honest answer?
It’s who I am.
It’s what brings me joy.
It’s a way for me to connect with other like-minded people.
I wish there was a more profound or sexier answer but honestly, there’s no secret to it. My intention was to remove any resistance to showing up online and the way I knew to do that, was to be myself. I know it’s easier said than done right?
Here’s a question to think about:
Where in your business are you playing it safe or diluting your unique blend of magic?
You’ll know where you’re hiding and that’s where the magic lies. So start there.
Marketing Strategy #3 – Leverage the Power of Storytelling
“People do not buy goods & services. They buy relations, stories & magic” That’s one of my favourite quotes from Seth Godin. And it’s 100% fucking true.
People connect with stories. Storytelling is what creates an emotional bond with your audience.
I sometimes feel like the art of storytelling is lost in the online space because short-form content is prioritised or shoved down our throats and everyone is chasing the quick win or the quick dopamine hit. I’m a big advocate for the power of storytelling and I truly believe that it’s the far more sustainable and impactful way to build and cultivate a community of raving fans.
You create raving fans by sharing your journey, your challenges, your triumphs and how your offer has impacted others. And when you have that connection with your audience, they’re more likely to trust you and choose you. This is also what turns them into those raving fans who tell everyone they know about you and your offers.
Marketing Strategy #4 – Offer Irresistible Value
Stop wasting your time chasing after fleeting trends and instead combine the magic of your deep understanding of your ideal clients, your unique blend of magic and the power of storytelling to offer irresistible value to your community.
Winning clients becomes easier when you make it a complete no-brainer decision for them. It’s like “OF COURSE” I want to buy from you because you’ve ticked the boxes and given me what I desire!
I know “adding value” is one of those terms that is used a lot so what this actually means is:
- Sharing content that teaches your community something new or changes their perspective
- Becoming the go-to source of information because you never hold back from sharing your wizarding wisdom with your community
- Creating offers or resources that solve a specific problem your ideal clients have
All of this helps you not only attract potential clients but also builds trust and credibility amongst your community. And when you consistently offer irresistible value you consistently win clients – hello consistent sales!
So there you have it – The secret to making winning clients 100 times easier than most – proven marketing strategies.

Ask yourself – Will this help me get to know my ideal clients better, build a stand-out brand, leverage the power of storytelling or offer irresistible value? And do I have the time to implement AND stick to it for at least 3 months?
If not – you probably don’t need it. Because the secret to marketing magic doesn’t lie in trending audio or hitting 10k followers… It comes down to maximising your marketing efforts with high-return marketing strategies. And the sooner you stop wasting your time trying to figure out how to hack the algorithm, the better!
