Creating content isn’t meant to be that Sirius…

But recently I’ve found myself feeling really bored of content, especially on social media.

Bored creating my own content.

Bored scrolling through my feed and seeing the exact same content on repeat.

And worst of all…I’m bored seeing everyone sound exactly the same.

AI has stripped the human magic out of social media.

Instead of creating content that’s fun, bold, and unmistakably you… it’s like everyone has a broomstick up their butt. And honestly? I’m over it.

That’s why I’m declaring September my content reset month. I’m breaking my own marketing rules and giving myself full permission to shake things up. And my intention is to give you permission to do the same.

Because when you’re feeling creatively bored, your content slips into boring territory and your audience feels it. That energy ripples through your engagement, your sales, and ultimately, your whole business.

And since you’ll always need to create content, why not make it fun, bold, and full of magic?

The State of Content Right Now

Let’s be brutally honest. Content in the online space as a whole is boring as broomsticks.

AI has templatised captions so everyone sounds the same, using the same words, in the same format. Posts are created purely to trigger automations and deliver clickbait that promises the world but gives you nothing.

And originality? No one’s heard of her. Trends are picked up and done to the deatheaters.

It’s all sucking the joy out of creating content, which is supposed to be fun! Content is how you connect, nurture, and build long-lasting relationships with your community.

So how do we flip the script and bring the fun and magic back?

My Content Reset Plan

This September, I’m throwing the “rules” out the window. My main goal is to have fun, test, and try some new things.

My inner perfectionist feels a little triggered by this, but that’s the point.

Because when you create content out of “shoulds” or because “everyone else is doing it,” you lose your unique blend of magic. Your content starts sounding like every other muggle → your audience tunes out → engagement bombs → you start hating content → and eventually, your business struggles.

I’ve seen this spiral again and again. But here’s the truth: content is the lifeblood of your business. You can’t opt out. But you can choose to do it differently – if you’re brave enough to try.

And no, this reset isn’t about posting for the sake of it or ditching strategy completely. It’s about finding new ways to express my magic, while still positioning myself as the go-to messaging + marketing strategist for my dream clients.

How I’m Putting This Into Action

Here are a few of the experiments I’m trying in September:

The Content Time-Turner. Rewinding old posts and recasting them with 2025 magic. Sometimes the best ideas are ones you’ve already shared – they just need a fresh spin.

More face-to-camera Reels. The introvert in me hates this, but they work. So I’m showing up more on video – even if I’d rather hide under an invisibility cloak.

Being bolder with my opinions. Less sugar-coating, more telling it like it is. Because safe content blends in. Brave content makes people stop, think, and remember you.

And that’s just the beginning. The point isn’t to follow formulas – it’s to follow the sparks and let curiosity lead.

5 Rule-Breaking Content Experiments to Try

I don’t share my reset so you’ll copy it exactly – your version might look totally different. But here’s some inspiration to start shaking things up:

Share something unpolished. Skip Canva. Post a messy desk pic, a quick selfie, or a scribbled note. Show the human behind the business.

Drop your sauciest opinion. Share the post you’ve been too nervous to write. Hot takes spark conversation.

Post with no CTA. Share something purely for fun or connection. No opt-in. No “buy now.” Just vibes.

Break your own niche. Share something outside your usual business content—like a random obsession or pop culture hot take.

Try a new format or style. If you always post carousels, try a Reel. If you always write polished captions, try a voice note. Switch things up.

The magic isn’t in the tactic – it’s in giving yourself permission to break rules, play, and rediscover the joy in content.
