Creative Launch Campaigns: How to Make Your Next Launch Stand Out
IMAGINE if Beyoncé launched an album the way most online business owners are launching their offers right.
“Hey guys, my new album is available now.”
Followed by a couple of Instagram Stories, a countdown sticker and a handful of emails before deciding to disappear off the face of the earth because “I couldn’t possibly talk about my album anymore without pissing people off”.
And look, Beyoncé could probably get away with it. But sadly, you’re NOT Beyoncé and you’re launching into a market that’s more skeptical, more distracted and being served more content and offers than ever before.
So simply announcing that your offer exists and hoping people buy it probably isn’t going to cut it.
What Beyoncé does brilliantly (and what so many of the best brands do brilliantly) is create an entire world around what they’re launching.
There’s an idea behind it. A story. A visual identity. Teasers, collaborations, activations and moments that build anticipation long before anyone is asked to buy.
And THAT’S what creative launch campaigns are all about – and the juicy conversation we’re diving into today with the launch campaign wizard herself, Kelsey McCormick.
Let me introduce you to Kelsey McCormick
Kelsey is the founder of Coming Up Roses, where she helps creative entrepreneurs build businesses, launch offers and make more money without turning themselves into someone they’re not.
Before starting her own business, Kelsey worked in the music industry creating marketing campaigns for artists and festivals, so she brings a very different perspective to launching than the usual online business formula.
She was also one of the first people I saw say no to an AI-first approach, right when everyone else was going all in.
In This Episode, We Talk About:
In today’s episode of the How I Do Content Podcast, we talk about what actually makes a great creative launch campaign and why the formula so many of us learned a few years ago has stopped landing in 2026.
We also get into:
- What separates a creative launch campaign from a traditional launch (and why an album drop is a better blueprint than a cart-open countdown)
- Whether there’s still hope for a big launch if you don’t teach content
- How to find a campaign concept when you’re convinced you’re not creative
- Why Kelsey stepped back from AI – and what it had been doing to her confidence
- The simple waitlist habit she uses to find fresh messaging before every launch
- Her predictions for launches heading into 2027
Why This Matters As We Head Into Launch Season
Black Friday, Cyber Monday and end-of-year launches are right around the corner. Which means your audience is about to be hit with more offers, more countdowns and more “doors close at midnight” emails than at any other time of year.
The business owners who stand out will be the ones who’ve given people a reason to pay attention: creative launch campaigns that feel recognisably theirs, messaging that reflects what their audience is saying RIGHT NOW, and a warm-up that builds trust before the cart ever opens.
As Kelsey puts it, AI can do a lot – but it can’t be you. If your next launch is already on the calendar, listen to this one first.
